Below the Side N and Side E buttons, on the options window, are several picture buttons. These buttons contain small pictures rather than text, and have light blue boxes around them. Most of their functions should be obvious, but I'll explain them anyway.
Zooming
The Zoom-In button (4 arrows pointing out) and the Zoom-Out (4 arrows pointing in) buttons allow fast scale changes. The scale (zoom) factor for these buttons are 0.5 and 2.0 respectively. The Manual Zoom Button looks like the Zoom-In button, but has a dashed line surrounding it. This lets you select an area (and therefore the center and scaling factor) for zooming. The Manual Zoom Button is located directly below the Zoom-In button.
Print All
The Print All icon button allows you to print out the entire lineplot at a specified scale, automatically. This option is no big deal, unless of course that lineplot is going to be spread out over 50+ pages on the printer. The "Print All" icon button lets CavePlot worry about moving the lineplot up, down, and all around, so that all the parts get printed, while you go eat lunch or something.
When "Printing All", CavePlot should ignore (and not print) pages of lineplot that do not actually have survey lines on them. In addition, the pages should fit together perfectly, when trimmed to the "border" that is printed on all lineplots.
Lineplot Rotation
The Curving arrow buttons, on the Options Window, rotate the lineplot (by 15 degrees) in the direction indicated. The first 2 buttons rotate in the XY (azimuth) plane, while the second 2 rotate in the Z (inclination) plane.
Rotation to other views may be done by selecting the Rotate Picture Button. This button looks like a big compass, and displays the orientation of the current lineplot. Pressing this button bring up a small window allowing users to enter a value for the X-Y (plan view) and Z (Dip) rotation angles.
2-Point Stats
On the Options Window, the button with a question mark inside a circle is the 2-Point Stats button. Pressing this button allows you to compare the locations of 2 stations on the lineplot. When you select this button, the 2-Point stats window comes up. From here, you may select stations to by clicking near them on the lineplot.
To compare stations, you must select both a From Station and a To Station. Use the two radio buttons to tell CavePlot which (From or To) you are selecting.
To exit the 2-Point stats window, either click on the lineplot more than 1 inch from any stations, or press the Done button.
1-Point Stats are also available. See the Topic so named for more information.
